SPECIALIST SUPPORT

Security architecture, monitoring improvements and incident readiness.

Connect technical security findings with the decisions your enterprise needs to make. DBNETIT reviews selected controls, monitoring coverage and incident-readiness arrangements, then develops practical improvements with the teams responsible for delivery.

HOW WE CAN HELP

Three starting points

We turn technical security findings into decisions your teams can act on. Start with one of three questions: how well are selected controls working, can your monitoring detect and escalate what matters, and who does what when an incident occurs.

01

Review selected security controls

Examine the controls, documentation and operational practices relevant to the systems in scope. Record the evidence reviewed, assessment limitations and priority concerns. Findings should explain both the technical issue and the business context needed to decide what to do next.

02

Clarify detection and escalation

Review which systems provide security logs, which events matter and who investigates alerts. Identify gaps in log coverage, alert ownership and escalation arrangements before selecting changes to the monitoring service or platform.

Our professionals’ SIEM experience includes Splunk, Sumo Logic and ArcSight. Work has included validating log feeds, tuning correlation rules and alerts, and documenting monitoring architecture and security operations processes. Platform-specific work is assigned to specialists with the relevant experience.

03

Prepare for incident decisions

Review incident contacts, responsibilities and communication routes. A discussion-based exercise can walk stakeholders through a selected scenario and record gaps in coordination, decisions and handover.

WHEN THIS SERVICE FITS

Typical situations

This service fits when:

  • Logs exist, but no one can say which events matter or who investigates them.
  • A monitoring platform is being replaced, and detection coverage has to be preserved.
  • Audit or test findings keep arriving without owners or a clear sequence.

THE ENGAGEMENT

A clear route from review to handover.

  1. 01

    Set the assessment boundaries

Identify systems, business dependencies, evidence sources and stakeholders.

  2. 02

    Review the available evidence

Examine the selected controls and practices using a documented method.

  3. 03

    Discuss findings

Validate the context with the people responsible and identify uncertainties or additional work needed.

  4. 04

    Plan the response

Prioritize recommendations and record owners, dependencies and follow-up decisions.

The assessment method and any framework mapping are selected for the actual requirement. A security review is not automatically a certification audit or a penetration test.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

Practical deliverables

  • An assessment summary stating the boundaries, evidence and limitations.
  • A findings register connecting observations with potential business impact.
  • Prioritized recommendations with proposed owners and dependencies.
  • Detection, escalation or incident-exercise records where included in the engagement.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from Offensive Security?

This service focuses on security controls, evidence, operational arrangements and improvement priorities. Offensive Security involves authorized technical testing of specified assets under a defined testing plan. Choose the service according to the question you need answered.

Will an assessment certify our organization?

No. A review and its recommendations do not themselves confer certification or guarantee compliance. If certification or a formal assurance requirement is the objective, the necessary assessment, independent assurance and evidence requirements must be identified separately.

Can you review our monitoring arrangements without replacing our tools?

A review can focus on log coverage, alert ownership and escalation across the existing environment. A recommendation to change a platform should follow the requirements and findings, rather than be assumed at the start.

Does monitoring design include ongoing incident response?

Not automatically. Monitoring design, operating a monitoring service and responding to incidents are distinct responsibilities. Service hours, investigation duties, escalation and response authority need to be documented for any operational service.

How long does a security review take?

The schedule depends on the number of systems, evidence availability, stakeholder access and the depth of the assessment. Define those inputs first, then establish the proposed schedule and review points. No single duration fits every environment.

What information should we share initially?

Describe the business concern, relevant systems, existing security providers, desired output and deadline. Keep credentials, sensitive incident evidence and confidential system records out of the public contact form; suitable handling arrangements should be established before those are exchanged.
